Having Issues with the New Windows 11 Update? Try this: (VCRUNTIME Error fix)

Updated: Aug 28, 2022

if You’re having issues with windows 11 (Specifically with launching apps and games) you’re in luck. I had this same issue. First off, install any available driver updates by typing in windows updates in settings, clicking get updates, and installs those. (Example: AMD Driver Update) install this and restart. If Windows 11 isn’t working for you, you may want to back to windows 10 before you start any of this. That’s what I did.

If it it is to late to do so, this should still work without rolling back to Windows 11.

You may get vcruntime140dll is missing

errors when opening games or apps. Heres how (Most likely) to fix that. First, go to control panel. Click on “remove or change an app”.

When you get there, click repair for all the versions under Microsoft visual studio regardless of whether it’s 32 bit 64 bit or 86 bit, or what year it was. This should fix most issues. Restart and most programs should work. Another idea to fix windows on specifically origin games is to install steam (if you don’t have it already) and import your non steam game to steam and open it through steam. This is easy as you simply download steam off of their website, click games, click add non steam game, and launch.

Want to go back to windows 11?

You can do this too. After the fix, you should be able to go back and it will work for you this time. Thanks for reading and hope this helped.

Note: also try repairing your apps and games/verifying files as well and also don’t forget to restart after any changes you made.

I hope it worked for you!
